Why did I make this site?
Since 2021 when I worked at a scanning company doing data processing, I had kept a big spreadsheet containing all the data I had on my game collection, it was fairly basic at the time, mostly being purchase dates, price paid, completion status, etc. But over time it grew and grew until it became something I was extremely proud of.
I discovered the site vndb.org a while ago and the completeness of the data there amazed me. The sheer amount of data on that site is incredibly impressive and the attitude they have towards it really inspired me. So I decided to move my collection spreadsheet to a proper database, not with any particular plan, but with the vague idea that "doing this means I can get more use out of it, like.... making a website". Shortly after that I started working on this site.
Initially I was going to add more things to the site, but all of the video game data is just so interesting to play with, so it ended up becoming the primary focus. I do still plan on adding more stuff, but for now this site is mostly for you to browse the collection I have been building for over a decade.
